Eddie Money going country?

Rocker Eddie Money is going country with a little help from his friends. Money is working on an album featuring “countrified” versions of some of his early hits and country star Vince Gill is singing background vocals.

Money, 58, hasn’t released an album of new music since 1999. Last year he released an album of ’60s soul and R & B covers.

The new album is being produced by Big 7 Records, a small country label based in Northern California which is where Money began his career. Dennis Sanfillipo, who co-founded Big 7 with money he won in the state lottery 16 years ago, persuaded the rocker to try country.
