Fox's 'Glee' rehabilitates 1980s radio hits like 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' by Bonnie Tyler

The Fox TV phenomenon “Glee” has a music marketing plan that goes way beyond radio, but that doesn’t mean radio isn’t an important component.

Last week’s “Glee” episode tackled the formidable task of helping to rehabilitate ’80s radio hits whose reputation has faltered.

After the immortal “Run Joey Run” and “Ice Ice Baby,” the show closed with “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” a No. 1 hit in 1983 for Bonnie Tyler. It was overdone, of course. How could it not be and still keep any authenticity?
